Hidden Figures Movie Review

Image
Hidden Figures is truly an inspiring story about some amazing black women who were apart of NASA Space program. These women are the powerful mathematicians who helped put men in space.    Before seeing this movie, I was not even aware of any of these women Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson, and Dorothy Vaughan.  The movie also represented an unspoken sisterhood between black women that was truly heartfelt. The roles were played by three phenomenally talented women Taraji P. Henson played Katherine G. Johnson, Janelle Monae played Mary Jackson, and Octavia Spencer played Dorothy Vaughan.  These sister's brought life to the characters with honor.  Photo credits:  Theodore Melfi These women endured the ugliness of racism, segregation, and inequality.  However, Katherine, Mary, and Dorothy did not allow these barriers to stop them.  It was hard being a black woman during that time period.  These ladies are truly our Hidden Heroes because they opened doors for more women of color
