#TBT-What's your Favorite Movie about Black Love?

It's #TBT (Throwback Thursday's).  We all love a good love story from the last 10-14 years.  These  movies have given us hope, inspiration, and diversity.  Mr. Right and Ms. Right always get their man or woman!  Whether it's the bad boy or the good guy coming to the rescue of a Queen searching for love, it's always a gorgeous King playing the role.   Here's our top15 list and we do have more but I think this list will do for now since there's comedy, little cheating/lying going on, even fatal attraction, ruff neck/bad boy, courtship, online dating, best friends falling in love, a little drama, and rediscovering what love is. 1. Think Like A Man Too (2014) 2. Best Man Holiday (2013) 3. Jason's Lyrics (1994) 4. How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998) 5. Love Jones (2000) 6. Why did I get Married? (2007) 8. Jump the Broom (2011) 9. Black Coffee (2013) 10.Thin Line Between Love & Hate (1996) 11. Love & Basketball (1997) 12. Waiting to Exhale

Do you know your worth as a Woman?

Image
Do you know your worth as a woman?  Do you allow others to treat you like your on the discount rack?  If you don't value yourself then how do you expect others to appreciate the Queen that you were created to be? A man will treat you based on how you allow yourself to be treated. If he notices that you have friends that walk all over you then he too will under value you and walk all over you. Let's not get it confused with placing a monetary dollar value on your worth.  Your worth is more precious than any dollar amount someone can give you.  When you value yourself, you will step up your standards for your personal development, career, relationships with men, family, and friends.  Your self-esteem will have a recharge button that will help you redefine who you are as a beautiful queen who knows her true worth. How to determine your worth?   1. Starts with getting to know you, looking over your journey called life. 2. Re-examine your values, your morals, your beliefs

It's My Time 2014-Step out on Faith!

Image
How many of us have said, "This is my Year 2014'?  How many times have you said, "It's my time to make all my dreams come true"?  How many of your friends and co-workers have you told I am launching my business or I am writing that book?  What's keeping you from taking that leap of faith to say Yes to your dreams?   How many times have you said, I am going to quit my job and start that business?  Who are you trying to convince?  It's time to tell fear to "get out" that it's residency has been evicted. It's time for your faith to grow bigger than your fear. How many excuses have you made not to step out on faith with your passion, your talent, and your gifts?  Faith will sustain you while taking charge as you dare to make the dreams a reality.   It's your year of Harvest to be elevated to your greatest potential.  Dreams require action, dedication, and work. Man with Dreams

Image
Photo credits: Courtesty of Pinterest & Facebook   A man with Dreams needs a woman that believes in him, understand him, and supports him. A woman with a vision will elevate them both on their journey to success. By far she will be his purpose mate that pray for his territory to be enlarged.  She will challenge him to be better and want more out of life.  He will honed his gifts and talents that will open many doors for him to excel at what he loves to do. He will leave a legacy because of his commitment to his dreams and determination to take his life to that next level. All this requires of woman with faith and vision and not a woman who will distract him from his dreams because she has no vision for her life or his.   It will transform his heart, his love, and his expectations of their relationship.  He will appreciate that woman in his life because she believes in his dreams and his goals. The bigger his dreams the wider her vision becomes for him and their journey

Dare to Dream

Image
Have you looked back over your life and asked yourself, What Happened?  You once had dreams of writing that novel, starting your own business, or writing for a big magazine company. Better yet, you wanted to pursue a career in acting or singing.  Somewhere along the journey of life, your dream got deferred and you got older.  Every year you made excuses as why you could not pursue your dreams.  You are never too old to dare to dream.  If you have a dream of being a writer, launching your own business, being a actor/actress, or even a talk show host; there is nothing stopping you but you.  Sometimes we are our worst enemy and dream killer.  Step out on faith and believe in yourself and your dream.  What has been placed in your dreams are glimpse of your future. You get one life and its' time to live and pursue your dreams!  Dare to Dream the impossible and realize that dream is possible.  You can make your dreams come true by believing in yourself first, encouraging yoursel

Think Like a Man Too

Image
This movie hit theaters on June 19th and #WOWED the country.  I love the fact that it's not being categorized as a Black Film but as a movie with diversity, comedy, love, and a positive message.  There were many plots to follow, but on of my favorites is that mama boys do stand up to their mama's in a respectful manner and get married.  It was an awesome movie with great comedy, great acting, and a great cast of all of my favorites.  Kevin Hart is hilarious and plays the role extremely well.  I love the fact we got to see the ladies cut up in this movie too at the strip club.  Yes, Taraji P. Henson, Megan Good, La La Anthony, Regina Hall, and Gabrielle Union outstanding performance.  Let's not forget the outstanding performance from the fellas in the movie to Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Kevin Hart, Romany Malco, Terrence Jenkins, and Gary Owen. This movie is still showing in theaters and according to Yahoo Movies box office total is $61,8707,244!  Go Head to the

Black is Beautiful

Image
Have you ever felt like you didn't fit in because you were too dark or not light enough?  When you grow up with siblings that don't look like you and tease you because your darker or lighter does something to your self esteem, your spirit, and your identity.  Black is beautiful in all shades, whether your light skinned, Carmel, chocolate, brown skinned, or dark chocolate are the labels our family members gave us.  We are all beautiful and uniquely created in God's eyes.  We are wonderful masterpieces in a beautiful puzzle neatly designed by the most high.    Photo credits: Courtesy of Pinterest Tell your daughters that they are beautiful at an early age and let them know that they were uniquely designed and made in love and in God's eyes to be beautiful.  Let them know those freckles in her face are beauty marks from her heavenly father as he created you like no other. The dimples you have showcase your beautiful smile.  The gap in between your two front teeth,

Dating Men-Location, Location, Location!

Image
Why does the realtor always say these three words?  Location, Location, Location!  Because the locations mean something for your investment.  We can use that same philosophy when meeting someone that one starts dating.  How about meeting him on the Elevator at the Courthouse with his shoe strings and personal belongings in a plastic bag! Location, Location, Location!  One must ask themself, where is this relationship going?  Is he looking for place to call home or to be taking care of financially?  Yes, we believe in second chances, but one must ask the right questions because relationships are an investment of time, energy, emotions, and your heart.  If he spends more time in the courtroom in front of a judge then that is an investment you should really think thoroughly and pray about.  The talk should not be between you and your heart because if he is FINE, then you need a mediator to intercede on your behalf.     How about meeting him in the club?  How about meeting him onl

Love-How I want to be Loved!

Image
Love is not about having someone to pay your bills and buy you nice things. That's material and it's not from the heart. Love is about having someone who will care for you and about you. Someone who will stand by you through thick and thin. Someone who will be there with you through tough times and good times. Love is work and love is UNCONDITIONAL. This is the type of love I want from the man that finds me.  But first, one must open up there heart to allow love to come inside. Especially, when one has not known what real unconditional true love feels like. Photo credits courtsey of Pinterest When you have NEVER loved; you must learn how to love. That may require some patience on his part, but if he loves you then he will give you that patience & support. He will mend that broken heart by starting to sew a seed of love. When the heart has been broken, the art of forgiveness must be spoken so that you allow love to come to you. Otherwise, you will chase that lo

Forgiveness- Before you move into your next relationship!

Image
In relationships, sometimes we have to get it wrong before we get it right. Especially when we are trying to restore, build, develop, and nurture a relationship. What is important for us to prosper and grow is to forgive ourselves first and foremost then forgive the person who hurt us. It’s important to apologize to those you have hurt even if you never say it to them, but speak it out in your prayer because God knows when your heart is sincere. Once you forgive don’t hold onto the anger or grudges just let it go. If the person you forgave or told that you are sorry doesn’t accept it know that it's okay because you have done your part.
